2025 Practice Period Opening Ceremony

Join us for this important sangha evening with meditation and ceremony to open our annual 8-week Fall Practice Period and consider our intentions for practice during this time. The Opening Ceremony is also the first part of the Opening Sesshin. 

This year we will practice under the guidance of our Shuso (head student) Junka Ken Oates.

First, Guiding Teacher Teacher Nomon Tim Burnett and incoming Shuso Junka Ken will conduct the Shuso Entering Ceremony followed by the Practice Period Opening Ceremony.

Second, all practice period participants present will be invited to briefly share their intentions for this year's Practice Period.

This ceremony takes place during our regular Wednesday evening practice time - just drop in. If attending in person, please come for the entire evening.

Also: this evening is also the first evening of the Practice Period Opening Sesshin for which a separate registration is required.
