Sansui-ji, Mountains and Rivers Temple is available for use by compatible groups.
We are happy to rent Sansui-ji to other groups offering classes and meetings oriented around mindfulness and compassion.
There are two spaces available: Cloud Hall (850 sq ft) and the Zendo (900 sq ft). Renting the entire center is also possible.
Sansui-ji is fully accessible.
After you review this summary and read our rental policies, check check for current availability on our Building Calendar, taking note which of the two rentable spaces are available, and fill out our rental application to apply for your booking.
Rental groups fit into one of the three categories, please consider which category your use request will be:
1) Hourly Rental Non-Profit Groups - a typical rental agreement. Your dates, once approved, are guaranteed and you pay the hourly rate. You may charge your participants for coming. You need not be a formally registered 501c(3) to qualify for our non-profit rate.
2) Hourly Rental For-Profit Groups - a typical rental agreement. Your dates, once approved, are guaranteed and you pay the hourly rate. You may charge your participants for coming. Note that we charge for-profit groups at a higher rate than non-profits.
3) Community Group Use - this is our gift to the community to make it easier for smaller, informal, and donation-based groups to have meeting space. There is no fixed rent. Community Groups and their participants support Red Cedar Zen Community by donation (we require "passing the hat" at every meeting). You may not charge your participants for coming. Further, your use is subject to being bumped by Hourly Rental groups, especially if you meet in an ongoing (e.g. weekly) fashion at Sansui-ji.
Rental rates for 2026:
- Non-profit groups: $35/hr for initial 1-3 hours/booking, $30/hr for additional hours. Or $200/day for full day rentals.
- For-profit companies: $50/hr for initial 1-3 hours/booking, $45/hr for additional hours. or $285/day for full day rentals.
- Community groups: informal community groups may use Cloud Hall on a by-donation basis, however their use is subject to be being bumped by hourly rental groups.

CLOUD HALL
Cloud Hall, our 850 sq. ft. multi-purpose classroom space, is our most rented space. Amentities include tables and chairs, amplification for the speaker, a projector, screen, and ceiling mounted camera for visual and audio presentations with your group and/or hybrid Zoom-in options. Sansui-ji is fully accessible and there is easy access to two ungendered bathrooms one of which is fully ADA. Cloud Hall users may also use our coffee/tea area and kitchen space. Capacity: 40 people.
ZENDO
The Zendo, our meditation hall, is 900 sq. ft. There are 10 chairs available but most participants must be comfortable sitting on cushions and benches on the floor. Recommended for programs which emphasize meditation. This room also includes a public address system to amplifier the speaker with an additional microphone for participants. The in-room cameras and projector for hybrid programing are not available for rental users in the Zendo, however.
The Rental Process
First step: check the Building Calendar, taking note which of the two rentable spaces are available.
Second step: review the Sansui-ji Temple Facility Use Guidelines
Third step: fill out and submit the Sansui-ji Rental Application online.
Our Rentals Manager will work with you to complete the Sansui-ji Rental Contract and the Sansui-ji Release of Liability.
