An important ceremony for the Shuso's training and the culmination of Practice Period.
Join us with a question from the heart to share with Shuso Junka Ken Oates at the Hossinshiki ceremony which also concludes the Practice Period Closing Sesshin.
Everyone who participated in the Fall Practice Period is warmly encouraged to attend whether you are signed up for the sesshin or not.
The ceremony is a heart-to-heart encounter between each Practice Period student and the shuso. Together we bring up the Dharma in this important empowerment ritual for the shuso and the sangha.
You will be invited to ask the shuso a question about the Dharma. This should be a genuine question about your own practice, life, and heart. The shuso will respond from their felt experience as the practitioner in the center of our shared mandala.
Registration if you are not already attending the sesshin: Please register for the ceremony here and choose between the in person and online options. If you are joining us in-person, please arrive about 10 minutes early and enter during kinhin (walking meditation).
Also, have you shared your Practice Period intentions and requests with the teachers at 2025 Practice Period Application yet?
