As a continuation of the class offered in the spring of 2023, Nomon Tim offers additional reflections on the Lotus Sutra. In this 2nd session of 6 he brought up the transition in Mahayana of an emphasis on “other-power” (tariki in Japanese) over “self-power” (jiriki) which was emphasized more in early Buddhism. Then the class explored the pivotal Chapters 15 & 16 in which the Buddha makes the biggest reveal in the Sutra.
