Winter Practice Period

Each Winter, the Red Cedar Zen Community engages in a period of intensive practice, a Buddhist tradition originally established as “rain retreats”, when early Buddhist monks and nuns were unable to travel due to seasonal heavy rains. In our practice in Bellingham, Practice Period is marked by several retreats, classes, and formal ceremonies.
