The current draft of the detailed schedule is available on line at http://sites.google.com/site/redcedarzendocs/w/programs/organizing/study-retreat-schedule.
Our annual Fall Zen Studies retreat is a combination of a seminar and a meditation retreat. The day will be a mix of silent meditation practice, talks and discussion. The noon meal will be provided and taken in silence (buffet style, not oryoki). Private interviews with the teacher (doksuan) are not available at our study retreats.
Participants will take care of their own dinner on Saturday (2 hour dinner break) followed by an evening of zazen.
[Note change from earlier publicity which mentioned a sangha potluck during the evening.]
Please arrive on time and plan to stay for the entire schedule unless other arrangements have been made.
If you must arrive late and a zazen period is underway, please wait in the lobby or library for the next break. A schedule will be posted in the entryway.
In Buddhism there is a tradition of offering the teachings freely. Dana is an anonymous, voluntary offering, and there will be an opportunity for donations to the teacher. Please consider what these teachings and this practice are worth to you. Additional information about dana will be available during the retreat.
