Invitation: We invite you to join us in creating a support community dedicated to mindfulness and peacefulness and sharing this vision through Soto Zen practice and the on-going existence of Red Cedar Dharma Hall in downtown Bellingham.
Benefits of Membership:
- Supporting a growing Zen practice community and the Everyday Zen experiment of committed lay practice.
- Access to Spiritual Director Nomon Tim Burnett. As a Member, you are invited to consider Tim to be your priest. Tim is available to meet with you privately in dokusan with during most zazen periods at the zendo or to consult with you by phone or email about your practice. Tim is also glad to perform ceremonies for members including weddings, funerals, blessing ceremonies and health and well-being ceremonies at the zendo or your home.
- Access to our Lay Entrusted teachers Yuzan Nancy Welch and Seishu John Wiley who offer practice discussion on request and at some zazen meetings (check with them for the schedule).
- Eligibility for retreat grants (scholarships for retreats sponsored by other groups) - request the Retreat Grant Application from the membership workgroup
- Members are invited to consider the Dharma Hall their second home and may use the Hall individually for drop-in practice and study at any time when it is not in use by another group. Please contact the Membership Workgroup at info@redcedarzen.org of 360-312-7088 for the door code.
- The option to spend the night as needed at Red Cedar Dharma Hall (This and other building policies are available at the Building Workgroup site).
- And now we'll be adding discounts for members to our retreats held at Red Cedar Dharma Hall as well.
